Rita

In the shelter’s words · excerpt

Meet Rita! Rita’s story is one of heartbreaking loyalty and incredible resilience. This very sweet two-year-old girl was dumped on the side of a road—and stayed there for days, refusing to leave. Even as people tried to help, she would run away, waiting faithfully for the person who left her behind. Despite everything she’s been through, Rita’s heart is still wide open.
