In the shelter’s words
Ricky is a gentle and sweet boy who is still learning to trust new people. He may take a little time to warm up to you, but once he does, he’ll be your loyal companion for life. Ricky thrives in a calm and patient environment where he can feel safe and secure. He’s not the type to rush into new situations, but with some patience and love, he’ll show you just how affectionate and playful he can be. Ricky gets along well with other dogs and enjoys having a canine companion to play with. He would do well in a home with another dog or with a family who is experienced in working with shy, sensitive dogs. He does need a home with no children or cats at this time. Ricky is very playful and loves to play with toys and chew on bones. Ricky will require a secure fence above 4 feet. If you're looking for a sweet and gentle dog who just needs a little extra time to trust, Ricky could be the perfect fit for you. He’s waiting for a home where he can blossom and show his true, loving nature. Could you be the patient and understanding adopter Ricky needs? Ricky's adoption fee is $250 and includes his neuter, microchip, current vaccinations, and preventatives plus a free basic training course. Ricky is seeking an indoor only home and Last Hope requires that all adopters have a history of keeping their animals altered and current on vaccinations/prevention. If you would like to meet or adopt Ricky, please submit an adoption application on our website Adopthope.org. Our adoption process includes a background check, vet history check, and a home visit.

Shelter-listed fee: $250
Prior to adoption, all of our dogs have been tested for heartworm, current on vaccinations, micro-chipped, and spayed or neutered, if age appropriate. Our adoption process includes reference and background checks, a vet check and home visit. The adoption fee for dogs and puppies varies. Prior to adoption, our cats have been tested for feline leukemia, current on vaccinations, micro-chipped, and spayed or neutered, if age appropriate. If at the time of adoption, the kitten is too young to be spayed or neutered, an agreed upon time frame will be set for when this procedure is to be done. Spaying or neutering is not an optional procedure, it is required of all animals we rescue. The adoption fee for cats and kittens varies.
