In the shelter’s words

In honor of Pit Bull Awareness Month, my adoption fee is WAIVED for the entire month of October! ❤ Named Saint, acts like everyone's best friend. If happiness had four legs and a wagging tail, it would probably look a lot like him. Meet Saint!Saint is a 3-year-old tan pit bull with a heart as big as his smile. He was adopted from us as a puppy, but after an unexpected adventure where he ran off, he found his way back into our care. Now he's hoping his next home will be his forever one. This handsome boy will need a fenced-in yard to help keep his curious spirit safe. He's fun, playful, and full of life, even if he's been a little unsure of toys here at the shelter. We're confident it's just the stress of a new environment. Once he settles into a home, his silly side is sure to shine.Saint is also learning how to play politely with other dogs. He gets excited and sometimes uses his "excited voice" right in another dog's ear, but with guidance and practice, he's making progress. He also loves to be heard when exciting things are happening. He's the kind of dog who wants to join in on the fun and make sure you know he's part of it.Saint was recently re-tested with cats and showed very little interest in them. Because of this, we believe he could potentially live with a confident, cat-savvy cat that understands high-energy dogs. As with any new pet relationship, slow introductions will help set everyone up for success. What Saint loves most is people. He greets everyone with a full-body wiggle, happy hops, and the kind of enthusiasm that makes you feel like the most important person in the world. He's good with kids who can handle a bouncy pup and all the joy that comes with him.If you're looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who's ready for a fresh start, Saint is waiting to meet you. This pet has been sponsored and is free for adoption. Please note: All of our animals are spayed/neutered and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations. Each pet also receives a behavioral assessment to help us better understand the type of home they may thrive in. However, it’s important to remember that the results may not fully reflect an animal’s true personality, as shelter and foster environments can be stressful. If you are interested in meeting any of our animals, we encourage you to first visit our website and submit an adoption application: https://www.acskc.org/adopt-1Once your adoption application has been approved, we will call you to set up an appointment to meet with the pet! We welcome adopters from out of state to apply! _When it comes to our pets, we're all-inclusive! Plan a visit with the source organization

Once you’re ready to adopt, head over to our Adoption Application to fill out and submit the form. Once our Adoption Team has reviewed and approved your application, we will give you a call to schedule an appointment with the pet! When you arrive at ACSKC, you will be greeted by our Adoption Coordinator and taken to meet the pet, either in our Meet and Greet Room or one of the play yards. If you already have pets in the home, you may be asked to bring them with you for a meet and greet to ensure they will get along in the home (this typically only applies to dogs). If you and our Adoption Coordinator feel like it is a good match, we will then finalize the paperwork and send you home with a bag of goodies, including our “Welcoming Your New Pet Home Guide,” toys, treats and a sample bag of their pet food. If it is not a good match, you are welcome to meet the other available pets in the shelter. Your approved application will be kept on file for 90 days, so you’re encouraged to take your time before making a decision!
