In the shelter’s words
Barnum is a beautiful Shepherd mix with a tender heart and a cautious spirit. Once feral, he learned to survive by relying on his instincts — and now he’s learning what it means to feel safe, loved, and understood. For the right person, Barnum will be an incredibly rewarding companion. But he isn’t for everyone. He’s for his person. Barnum becomes devoted to the person who makes him feel safe: offering gentle affection, leaning in for reassurance, and even rolling over for his favorite thing in the world — belly rubs. His mid-level anxious energy means he startles easily — even squeaky toys are a little too exciting for him right now. Barnum needs someone who understands that progress doesn’t happen overnight — but that small steps forward are victories worth celebrating. He will thrive with someone who will let him set the pace — whether that means giving him a little space or inviting him to cuddle when he needs reassurance. If you’re the patient, gentle, dog-savvy person Barnum has been waiting for, he’s ready to start that journey with you. Est DOB: Oct 2024 * Approx Weight: 45# * Breed unknown - guess based on looks
