In the shelter’s words

Happy is a 7-year-old, large mixed breed who truly lives up to his name. He’s a sweet, affectionate boy who loves being close to his people and happily soaks up attention whenever it’s offered. Happy is potty trained and knows basic commands, making him an easy companion in the home. He’s used to being mostly indoors, can be left alone inside, and does well in a fenced yard. He enjoys treats and praise, which makes him a joy to work with and a great candidate for continued training. This gentle guy does well with small children, is often friendly with other dogs, and even likes cats and other small animals. He’s also done well around livestock such as chickens and goats—an impressive bonus for a large dog! On leash, Happy does tend to pull, so he’ll benefit from some leash refresher work and regular exercise. He has a naturally protective side, paired with a loving, cuddly personality that makes him a wonderful family dog. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who fits well into a family setting and already has great manners at home, Happy could be the perfect addition to your pack.Happy is a sweet, independent pup who enjoys doing his own thing. In the play yard, he’s more of an explorer—roaming the perimeter, sniffing around, and taking in all the scents. Every so often he’ll check in for a quick hello, and he’s easy to leash and pet, even if he’s a little nervous. We don’t know his full story, but it’s clear that Happy will thrive in a home that gives him patience, understanding, and the space to build trust at his own pace. With time and love, this thoughtful boy is sure to blossom.
