In the shelter’s words
Adhira (2 years old) Adhira is a friendly torbie cat who enjoys having her head and neck scratched. She has a friendly greeting for you when you come in the room, and she insists on being your sole focus. She is sometimes apprehensive about the great big world outside the window, but when she is with you, she is calm, confident, and cheerful. Adhira has also revealed to us that she doesn’t always care for other cats. She would be a splendid only cat. If you do try to introduce her to other pets, please reach out for advice about slow and careful pet introductions. She has shown us that she does not wish to share space with male cats. OK with Dogs : Unknown OK with Cats : No; any introductions must be done carefully and slowly; no male cats OK with Kids : Unknown

http://catscradleshelter.org/CCS/how-to-adopt/ An interview with the executive director is done prior to adoption. Not everyone is approved to adopt. Those that are approved have the cat for a 3 week trial period, where they can return cat and get a refund. Beyond that, we always want our cats back if the adoptive household can no longer care for it, but after 3 weeks, the adoption fee is not refunded. An adoption contract is completed prior to final adoption. Adoption fees are $118 including tax.
