In the shelter’s words
Meet Bartholomew Cubbins! AKA Barty Party. This silly 3ish year-old boxer mix weighs in at 65ish lbs of pure joy. Bart is playful and loves other dogs. He’s very in tune and tries to comfort those around him. Bart adores people, making him an excellent companion for families, especially those with children. His friendly demeanor and playful spirit bring happiness to everyone he meets. He has completed a board and train program thanks to a generous donor who wanted to help strays. He’s now got all the basics and more and will come with his training tools and education! Sit, stay, come, place, heel, right, etc etc etc. If you're looking for a loving and playful addition to your family, Barty is ready to Party! Barty is with a trainer in Lucasville. Applicants must fill out an application at www.adoptapitrescue.org/apply. We screen all applications, with approved applicants passing a vet and landlord check. All pets in the home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on all vaccinations and on year-round heartworm preventative. Non-homeowners must have permission from their landlord to have a dog. Once approved, we schedule a home visit, where an adoption representative takes the dog to the adopter's home to see if the dog is a good fit for the family and other pets, as well as verify the home is a safe environment for the dog. If everyone feels the dog is a good fit, a contract is signed, adoption fee is paid, and the family takes possession of the dog, unless other arrangements are made. Typical adoption fees are $175 for adult dogs and $200 for puppies. We reserve the right to charge different fees for "designer" breeds. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested, and on heartworm preventative at the time of adoption. All dogs have been examined by our veterinarian and given a clean bill of health at the time of adoption.
