In the shelter’s words

** I AM BLIND ** Tuna may not be able to see the world, but she has so much love to give to it! This beautiful brindle girl has a heartbreaking story. In May 2026, Tuna was found wandering alone in Texas. Being completely blind, we can only imagine how frightening and confusing that experience must have been for her. Sadly, nobody ever came forward to claim her. We don’t know if she was lost or abandoned, but we do know that she deserved so much better. Tuna arrived at Animal House Shelter on August 28th, and despite everything she’s been through, she has remained one of the sweetest, most affectionate girls you could ever meet! Don’t let her blindness fool you! Tuna is full of life, loves exploring her surroundings, and gets so excited when she hears people nearby. Her tail starts wagging, and she’s ready to shower you with kisses! She absolutely adores human affection and has so much love waiting for someone special. Tuna has also experienced a couple of seizures since arriving at the shelter and is currently being monitored. Her future family should be prepared to work with their veterinarian to ensure she receives any care she may need. Being blind doesn’t mean Tuna can’t live a happy, fulfilling life. With a patient, loving family, a consistent routine, and a safe environment, she has every opportunity to thrive. Tuna would also love a foster home where she could enjoy the comfort of a home environment while waiting for her forever family! Tuna doesn’t need to see your face to know she’s loved. She just needs someone willing to open their heart and give her the chance she deserves. Could you be the person who finally gives Tuna the happy ending she’s been waiting for? I weigh 37 lbs, and I am looking for my forever home. Adoption Donation: $350 All dogs are microchipped, neutered, current on all vaccines, heartworm tested (if age appropriate), and up-to-date on preventatives at the time of adoption. All household members and any dogs from the household need to be present to be able to adopt. A photo ID will be required at the time of adoption. Appointments are recommended. All applications are considered general. Specific animals are NOT put on hold for adoption. When you visit, our adoption counselors will be able to make suggestions based on the type of pet you are looking for and help you find the best fit for your family. Animal House Shelter cannot guarantee the breeds of the adoptable animals. The animals are posted on the website as the breed or breed mix based on their physical characteristics they most resemble. We also cannot guarantee the ages of our adoptable animals or how large puppies will be when fully grown. We look forward to seeing you soon! Plan a visit with the source organization

Animal House Shelter tries to keep the environment for the animals in our care, as healthy, stress free and comfortable as possible during their stay with us. Therefore, Walk-Through viewing of the dogs is NOT allowed at the shelter, due to the stress it creates. During your visit to the shelter, an adoption counselor will assist you through the adoption process and introduce you to as many dogs as you would like to meet, in order to make the best possible match for you, your family and your new pet. The cats are housed in a large ‘free roam’ cat room. They are able to socialize all day with each other, staff, volunteers and potential adopter. Like people, animals have distinct personalities that make them unique. At Animal House we are proud to say that these animals are treated like our own. We care enough to be certain they go to the right loving, forever home. 1. All adoption donations MUST be in cash, money order, traveler’s check , cashier’s check or by VISA, DISCOVER or MASTERCARD credit card only. NO PERSONAL CHECKS PLEASE. 2. You must be at least 21 years old to adopt. 3. All members of the household must be present, including any other dogs you may currently own, in order to do a final adoption (cats do not have to come to the shelter. We will cat test here because we know how stressful it is on the cats to be transported). 4. Dogs and cats that you currently own must be current on vaccinations and spayed/neutered prior to visiting the shelter or any adoption. 5. Fill out the Online Application and submit.–Vet Reference is necessary if you have owned a pet. 6. Any adoption may be subject to a “home check” prior to finalization. 7. We do not allow anyone to put a dog “on hold”, no exceptions. 8. Adoption Donations for dogs & puppies ranges from $50-$500 (each individual profile will state the adoption donation) 9. Adoption Donations for cats & kittens ranges from $75-$250(each individual profile will state the adoption donation) 10. Man
