In the shelter’s words
Starting October 6, all cats and kittens are FREE to adopt! Come find your new best friend today! As sweet as her name and twice as irresistible, Black Raspberry is ready to steal your heart! Meet Black Raspberry, a 3-year-old black cat with a sweet personality that's impossible to resist. Give her a few gentle pets, and she'll happily roll over, start purring, and soak up all the attention she can get. This affectionate girl loves people and enjoys spending time with her favorite humans.Black Raspberry has done well with children and enjoys being around people. She has also lived successfully with other cats, making her a great candidate for a feline-friendly home. Dogs, however, are not her favorite, so she would prefer a dog-free household where she can relax and be the center of attention.Black Raspberry came to us after experiencing litter box issues. After veterinary testing, we discovered that she is prone to developing bladder crystals. Because of this, she will need to remain on a prescription urinary diet, specifically Hill's c/d food, for life. This food can be prescribed and obtained through your veterinarian and is an important part of keeping her healthy and comfortable.Aside from that special dietary need, Black Raspberry is a happy, loving cat who is ready to settle into a home of her own. If you're looking for a friendly companion who will greet you with purrs, affection, and plenty of love, Black Raspberry may be the perfect addition to your family. Black Raspberry's adoption fee is $50, which helps support their medical care and preparation for adoption. Please note: All of our animals are spayed/neutered and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations. Each pet also receives a behavioral assessment to help us better understand the type of home they may thrive in. However, it’s important to remember that the results may not fully reflect an animal’s true personality, as shelter and foster environments can be stressful. If you are interested in meeting any of our animals, we encourage you to first visit our website and submit an adoption application: https://www.acskc.org/adopt-1Once your adoption application has been approved, we will call you to set up an appointment to meet with the pet! We welcome adopters from out of state to apply! _When it comes to our pets, we're all-inclusive! Plan a visit with the source organization
Once you’re ready to adopt, head over to our Adoption Application to fill out and submit the form. Once our Adoption Team has reviewed and approved your application, we will give you a call to schedule an appointment with the pet! When you arrive at ACSKC, you will be greeted by our Adoption Coordinator and taken to meet the pet, either in our Meet and Greet Room or one of the play yards. If you already have pets in the home, you may be asked to bring them with you for a meet and greet to ensure they will get along in the home (this typically only applies to dogs). If you and our Adoption Coordinator feel like it is a good match, we will then finalize the paperwork and send you home with a bag of goodies, including our “Welcoming Your New Pet Home Guide,” toys, treats and a sample bag of their pet food. If it is not a good match, you are welcome to meet the other available pets in the shelter. Your approved application will be kept on file for 90 days, so you’re encouraged to take your time before making a decision!
