In the shelter’s words
Meet Zeus! Zeus is a large, two-year-old pit mix with the biggest heart and an incredible love for his people. He is sweet, affectionate, and happiest when he is right by your side. Zeus doesn’t just enjoy human company — he truly needs it, and forms deep, meaningful bonds with those he trusts. He has a medium energy level and enjoys a balance of playtime and quiet time. At this time, Zeus needs to be the only dog in the home. He may be able to live with a dog-savvy cat with proper introductions and guidance. Zeus has severe separation anxiety and must have an adopter who is home most of the time. He would thrive in a home with someone who works from home, is retired, or otherwise has a lifestyle that allows them to be consistently present. Being with his person is what helps Zeus feel safe, calm, and secure. Ongoing support from a veterinarian and a professional trainer will be important as he continues to build confidence and work through his challenges. Zeus’s needs are significant, but so is his capacity for love. For the right person who can truly be there for him, Zeus will be an unbelievably loyal, devoted companion who gives his whole heart.Current weight: 100 lb Adoption Fee: $250 To Apply: www.fcrspca.org/adopt

We require all interested families to come in to the shelter and meet the dog or dogs that they are interested in (unless they meet a dog at an adoption event). We have a very thorough application which they can fill out and return to the shelter - we do not provide applications on line. We check vet, personal, and landlord references (we require a signed letter from the landlord and confirmation via phone call that pets are allowed). When an application is approved, we set up a meet and greet if there are other animals in the household. If not, the kids are ready to go home. We encourage all potential adopters to spend as much time with the dog(s) as possible before they head home, and an adoption contract is signed before the dog(s) go(es) home.
