Meet Cruiser Burt, the neighborhood celebrity, professional goofball, and part-time lap dog! Cruiser loves going on neighborhood sniffaris, where he investigates scents, practices leash manners, and has an ever-growing fan club. His biggest claim to fame? Being the undisputed fan favorite at the bus stop. This boy loves to chase, wrestle, and play with other pups, but he's also perfectly happy to settle in with a good bone. When the evening rolls around and his puppy batteries run low, he transforms into a professional lap napper. A few things to love about Cruiser Burt: He's potty trained and crate trained! He's good with children! He enjoys playing with other pups. He's working on his leash skills every day. He LOVES attention and interaction. If you're not paying attention to him, he'll happily provide a silly little performance to remind you that he's available for entertainment. He's curious, goofy, playful, occasionally ornery, and full of life.

Applicants must fill out an application at www.adoptapitrescue.org/apply. We screen all applications, with approved applicants passing a vet and landlord check. All pets in the home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on all vaccinations and on year-round heartworm preventative. Non-homeowners must have permission from their landlord to have a dog. Once approved, we schedule a home visit, where an adoption representative takes the dog to the adopter's home to see if the dog is a good fit for the family and other pets, as well as verify the home is a safe environment for the dog. If everyone feels the dog is a good fit, a contract is signed, adoption fee is paid, and the family takes possession of the dog, unless other arrangements are made. Typical adoption fees are $175 for adult dogs and $200 for puppies. We reserve the right to charge different fees for "designer" breeds. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested, and on heartworm preventative at the time of adoption. All dogs have been examined by our veterinarian and given a clean bill of health at the time of adoption.
