In the shelter’s words
Well, well, well... what do we have here? I'm Count Cluckula, the most dashing rooster this side of the graveyard! With my mysterious charm and killer good looks, I'm ready to rise from the shadows and haunt my way straight into your heart. Don't worry, though - the only thing I'm here to suck is the fun out of an ordinary barnyard! I prefer my days filled with sunshine, my nights under the stars, and my kingdom complete with a safe place to roam and stretch my wings. I'm searching for my very own castle to call home, complete with room to roam and humans who appreciate a rooster with a little extra bite to his personality. If you've been waiting for a sign from the dark side, this might just be it! Call 831-373-2631 to set an appointment, or meet me at the SPCA Barn today! The SPCA strongly encourages Adoption Holds to ensure I will be waiting to meet you when you arrive. The barn is closed for lunch from 12pm - 1pm.

Plan a visit with the source organization
1. Visit the SPCA at 1002 Monterey-Salinas Highway across from Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. 2. Visit with the pet you are interested in adopting to see if his personality fits your lifestyle. If you are adopting a dog, you can meet him in one of our new dog condo rooms or play in one of our play yards. 3. Complete family introductions (every member of the family living in the house with the animal must meet and visit with the animal prior to adoption to ensure a happy fit for everyone). 4. If you are adopting a new dog and already have one at home, our animal care staff will assist you with introducing your current dog to the dog you are hoping to adopt to ensure a good match. 5. The SPCA adoption process takes approximately 20-30 minutes to complete. All paperwork, vaccination records, and microchip information will be provided at this time. Adoption fees range from $20 to $290. 6. Take your new lifelong family member home!
