In the shelter’s words
Hi I’m Ellie Joy. I love to cuddle. That is the best thing that I do! I’m only 3 months old so I really don’t do a lot yet, other than eat, play and sleep which is great right now. But I’m working on learning to do a lot more like potty outside, stay in my crate nice and quiet and play well with others. Oh and I like car ride’s too, especially since I traveled all the way from Memphis. I would like to meet you very soon and hope you’d love to adopt me after meeting! I’m a pretty precious southern belle ❤️

Applicants must fill out an application at www.adoptapitrescue.org/apply. We screen all applications, with approved applicants passing a vet and landlord check. All pets in the home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on all vaccinations and on year-round heartworm preventative. Non-homeowners must have permission from their landlord to have a dog. Once approved, we schedule a home visit, where an adoption representative takes the dog to the adopter's home to see if the dog is a good fit for the family and other pets, as well as verify the home is a safe environment for the dog. If everyone feels the dog is a good fit, a contract is signed, adoption fee is paid, and the family takes possession of the dog, unless other arrangements are made. Typical adoption fees are $175 for adult dogs and $200 for puppies. We reserve the right to charge different fees for "designer" breeds. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested, and on heartworm preventative at the time of adoption. All dogs have been examined by our veterinarian and given a clean bill of health at the time of adoption.
