In the shelter’s words

Meet Doggert! A joyful American Pitbull Terrier/Siberian Husky mix currently in Waxahachie, TX, estimated to be about three to four years old, whose essence is a whirlwind of fun wrapped in a tan-and-white coat and topped with the biggest, goofiest smile you’ve ever seen. At around 75 pounds of pure personality, Doggert is the kind of companion who turns every day into an adventure with a tennis ball in his mouth and his expressive ears flopping in the breeze. This playful, affectionate boy is a real crowd-pleaser at the dog park, where he zips around like a furry rocket, always ready to fetch, chase, and make new friends! He’s wonderfully friendly with other dogs, gets along well with cats, and has a gentle, happy-go-lucky way with children. Whether he's zooming across the yard or melting into a cuddle session after a long walk, Doggert balances his active lifestyle with heartwarming affection, especially if you’re into toe kisses! Doggert is house-trained, crate-trained, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. He knows basic commands like sit, stay, come, and even responds to hand signals for “lay.” He adjusts well to a routine and stays calm when left alone, but he truly lights up when his people are nearby. A fenced yard is a must for this speedy sprinter! He needs space to run, explore, and release his Husky side in full glory. Got an active lifestyle? Doggert is your perfect partner for morning jogs, weekend hikes, or backyard fetch marathons! He’s always game for adventure but equally content to flop down for some belly rubs afterward. Just be sure to keep a few tennis balls handy! He loves to chew and these trusty toys help him steer clear of anything off-limits. Doggert needs a family or guardian who values playtime, companionship, and outdoor fun. If your heart’s big enough for one oversized grin and your yard’s roomy enough for zoomies, could Doggert be the cheerful new buddy you’ve been waiting for? Ready to meet this lovable goofball?
