Meet Athena Your Adventure Buddy in the Making! Athena is a beautiful 3-year-old girl who is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all of her vaccines. She's ready to find the patient, loving home she's been waiting for. Athena can be a little skittish when meeting new people and may need some extra time to feel safe and comfortable. She tends to warm up to women more quickly than men, but once you've earned her trust, you'll discover just how incredibly sweet and affectionate she truly is. This energetic girl is looking for an active family that can keep up with her zest for life. Whether it's long walks, hiking adventures, or plenty of playtime, Athena will happily be by your side. She would also benefit from continued training to help build her confidence and strengthen her bond with her new family. Athena is searching for a home with no cats and older children who can respect her need for patience as she settles in. She has been tested with a couple dogs here at the shelter and done well, she is still labeled dog selective and a dog test will be required. Interested adopters must fill out an adoption application. We verify that current pets are UTD on Rabies vaccinations and spayed or neutered. If the applicants rent we verify with the landlord that they are approved to adopt a pet. Adopters must fill out an adoption contract and sterilization agreement if the pet is not already altered. Pets that are not altered can only be adopted out to residents of Warren County or a surrounding jurisdiction. The adoption fee for cats is $15 and the fee for dogs is $30. The adoption fee does not include the cost of spay or neuter. If the animal is not altered adopters are required to have the pet altered within 30 days of adoption or by the time it reaches 6 months old.
