Slugger is with our rescue partner in Louisiana and can come to NJ with an approved foster or adopter. We do offer foster-to-adopt trials for approved adopters. Meet Slugger! A sweet, playful pittie mix who has overcome more than any dog should have to. He was found as a stray with heart worm and an old injury to his front leg. After multiple vet visits, Slugger’s doctors determined that he is not in any pain and that surgery is not the best option for him. Yes, his little front leg turns in bit, but don’t tell Slugger that he is any different! This happy boy runs, plays, and keeps up with the best of them! Slugger is thriving in his foster home alongside multiple dogs and is proving every day what an incredible companion he is. A bit about Slugger: • Playful and affectionate • Friendly with people, children, and other dogs • Great on leash • A wonderful car passenger • Full of personality and joy Slugger had a rough beginning, but he is ready for the soft bed, loving family, and happily-ever-after he’s always deserved. He’s the whole package—resilient, silly, loving, and ready to be someone’s very best boy. Could Slugger be the missing piece in your family? Slugger is fixed, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccines. He tested positive for heart worm, is currently undergoing treatment is Louisiana, and will be eligible to come to New Jersey once finished in November. His adoption donation is $500. Adopting an animal is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these animal have been through they deserve a loving, committed home.
