In the shelter’s words
Meet Fallon! ❤️ Hi, my name is Fallon! I’m an adorable 11-year-old, 10.5-pound Pomeranian looking for a calm, loving forever home where I can enjoy all the best things about being a senior sweetheart. I’m a silly little lady who loves naps, short walks, treats, mealtimes, and enjoying the quieter side of life. I don’t need a lot of activity to be happy, and I’m happiest when life is calm, predictable, and comfortable. I get along well with small dogs and cats, and I do well with respectful humans who understand that an older dog needs plenty of rest and personal space. I like attention and enjoy being near my people, but I’m not really a lapdog and don’t particularly enjoy being held. I’m perfectly content to hang out nearby while you watch a movie, relax, or go about your day. ❤️ Of course, I have my goofy moments too! Breakfast and dinner are especially exciting around here, and you may get to see my silly side when mealtime rolls around. A few things I'm still working on I do well with potty training when I’m kept on a consistent schedule. But I’m a senior lady, and when I need to go, I need to go! A fenced backyard would be a wonderful bonus for quick, easy potty breaks. It would also give me a comfortable space to enjoy some outdoor time while I continue learning how to walk on a harness. I’m still getting the hang of leashed walks. If something startles me, I may freeze or back away, so I’ll need a patient family who will let me build confidence at my own pace. New environments and fast-moving things can make me nervous, and I may feel more comfortable once I know I’m safe and settled. I’m not a big fan of going into my kennel, but I tolerate being kenneled when necessary, including for car rides. My medical needs I have a mammary lump and a heart murmur, and there is also concern about possible heart enlargement. My forever family will need to continue appropriate veterinary monitoring and follow veterinary recommendations for my care, including keeping me on my special heart-healthy diet. I may be a senior girl, but I still have plenty of love, personality, and goofy mealtime enthusiasm to share. I’m looking for someone who will appreciate the simple things with me: a cozy place to nap, a peaceful home, a few tasty treats, gentle companionship, and the chance to enjoy my golden years at my own pace. Could you be my forever family? ❤️ Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends. In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***
