In the shelter’s words
DOB: 9/30/2023 Loretta Lynn is a shy tabby girl who has already been through more than her fair share. She was rescued from outside a Tractor Supply, scared and unsure, with a wound on her head that has since healed. What remains is a small, unique patch of fur on her forehead — a quiet reminder of her strength and the life she survived. Loretta Lynn is still learning that the world can be kind. She’s a timid soul who needs patience, soft voices, and someone willing to let her set the pace. With time and understanding, she has the potential to blossom into a sweet, trusting companion. She would do best in a calm home where she can feel safe and slowly discover what it means to be loved. If you’re someone who believes the most rewarding bonds are the ones built gently, Loretta Lynn may be the special girl you’ve been waiting for. **Come meet me at the cage free Adoption Center! All cats are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and tested for FIV/FeLV. If interested in adopting me, please fill out an online adoption application at https://colonycats.org/adoption_app.html to expedite the process. Due to the large number of inquiries received, we are unable to respond to emails quickly.**

We have an application that requires the potential adopter to wait until their application can be verified. Once everything checks out the adopter comes and picks up their new fur member of the family and signs a contract. One of the highlights of our contract states that if for ANY reason at ANY time they cannot care for the animal, they must return the cat or dog back to Colony Cats (& dogs). Our adoption fees are $125 for kittens 6 months and younger; $75 for kittens over 6 months and adults up to 7 years; $50 for 7 years and older. If adopting 2 kittens/cats at the same time there is a $25 discount. The adoption fee includes spay/neuter, Feline Leukemia and FIV tested (cats), heartworm tested (dogs), microchip, flea prevention, vaccinations (FVRCP for cats and DHLPP for dogs), rabies vaccine (if kittens or puppies are old enough to receive a rabies vaccine). If not, the new owner will need to go to their vet to get this done.
