In the shelter’s words

Wolfsbane- Male, cream curlyBorn in our care on June 6th, 2026, this litter came into the world after their mom was found dumped near a river. She arrived scared, stressed, and completely unsupported, so it’s no surprise her babies are starting off on the shy side. These little ones are gentle, but right now they’d strongly prefer to have nothing to do with people. What they do have going for them is their softness, their stability, and their potential. With patient adopters who understand that confidence takes time, they’re likely to make steady progress once they’re in a calm, predictable home.We adopt our rats out in same‑sex pairs, since rats are deeply social animals who thrive with companionship. The only exception is when an adopter already has a friendly, same‑sex rat at home who’s a good match for a newcomer. This helps ensure every rat has the social support they need to feel secure, confident, and enriched. He will not be available for adoption until August 1st this year. You can get your applications in now for early approval.Adoption fee: $10Fill out a small pet application at www.midwestpetrefuge.com/adopt to apply. If you are interested in adopting this pet, please go to www.midwestpetrefuge.com/adopt to complete an application. Completing a questionnaire on any other website does not submit an application to our rescue, you must complete one on our website. If you have any questions, please email us at adopt@MidwestPetRefuge.com
