In the shelter’s words
Hi, my name is Toby, and I’m a handsome green-eyed gray tabby gentleman with a big heart and an even bigger appreciation for the good life. I’m estimated to be around 3–4 years old, and I’ve officially decided that my days of living outdoors are behind me. Just in time for the cold winter weather, a kind lady rescued me from the elements and showed me something I’d been missing—comfort, safety, and kindness. Now I dream of a forever home with a soft blanket, a cozy couch, and a sunny window where I can relax and watch the world go by. Even though I spent time outside, I have wonderful social skills. I may take a moment to be sure you’re my friend, but once I know you mean well, I warm up quickly and enjoy companionship. I used to think people were scary—but I’ve learned they can also be loving, gentle, and trustworthy. I enjoy playful moments and little antics that keep things entertaining, and my foster mom proudly says I am a GREAT CAT. There is one important thing to know about me: I am FIV-positive, something I likely inherited from my mom. The good news? I am healthy, happy, and living life just like any other cat. FIV is manageable, and many FIV-positive cats live long, full lives. Please take a look at the flyer in my photos—it explains everything clearly and helpfully. If you’re looking for a sweet, grateful companion who truly appreciates the warmth of a loving home, I might just be your guy.
