In the shelter’s words
China came to CTDR from a heartbreaking large-scale breeding and hoarding situation involving more than 80 dogs. This sweet girl is understandably scared and nervous as she tries to make sense of a world that is completely new to her. With patience, consistency, and kindness, China will need time to learn that she is finally safe. China has completed her initial vetting and heartworm treatment and is continuing to heal and gain confidence. She is a bigger girl and will benefit from a little “Weight Watchers” to help her lose a few extra pounds as she settles into a healthier routine. If you would like to give China the loving home she deserves, please complete an adoption application at www.ctdr.org.

Plan a visit with the source organization
Our Web site contains full details. We have all of our dogs (pictures/bios) on the site. Potential adopters need to completely fill out the application. Our Adoption Committee reviews and contacts the potential adopter to get the specifics. The committee also conducts the reference checks. Once this is complete, the committee sets up a home visit and finally, the team will set up a meet greet with the adopter and family to meet the Dachshund. All of our dogs are in foster homes with our volunteers so there isn't one central location.
