In the shelter’s words
Name: Dora Nicknames: Dora girl, Ms. Piggy, Baby beluga Age or Date of Birth: 6 years old Activity Level: Medium energy. A great mix of activity and chill. Things I do in my free time: Napping on the couch, neighborhood watch from the front window, chewing on bones, playing with my foster brother, getting belly rubs. Things I know: Sit, my name, come, "kennel" Things I am learning/currently working on: Barking out the window or at people through the fence. Who I currently live with (humans and animals): Two adult humans, two dogs and one cat. How I do with kids: It is unknown how I do with kids, as I have never lived with them. How I do with dogs: I love male dogs, but would prefer to be the only female in the house. How I do with cats: I have only had very few interactions with the resident cat. I have been very interested and fixated on him, but have never gotten close. My current size: 58lbs How I do in my kennel: I kennel like a dream. I would absolutely prefer to sleep with you in bed or on the couch. But I go to my kennel at night with no problem. How I do in car rides: I'm learning to associate car rides with fun adventures! I love looking out the window and watching the world go by. Am I house trained?: Yes. I had one accident in the house when I first got to my foster home. But my foster humans chalk that up to nerves. Additional Info from foster: Dora is easily one of the best fosters we've ever had. At 6 years young, she is the best mix of activity and chill (she's currently snoozing, and snoring, right next to me as I write this). When Dora first came to us, she had just lost the only home she had ever known after her owner died unexpectedly. She was fearful, shut down, confused, but had just enough curiosity to poke her head out once in a while. Over the next few days, we started to see her true personality come out. And wow, what a transformation! This girl is so happy, so goofy, and loves being a part of the pack! She loves playing with her foster brother, chewing on bones, patrolling the backyard, going for walks, and most of all...snuggling on the couch with you! Get use to the snoring though...this girl snorts and snores while awake or sleeping ;p Dora lived with two other dogs in her previous home, as well as in her current foster home. She definitely does better in a pack, as she finds a lot of comfort and confidence. However, Dora is not a girl's girl, and prefers male dogs only. We call her Ms. Piggy looking for her Kermit :) Adoption fee is waived.
