In the shelter’s words

My name is Astra and I’m the star of my family! I love to cuddle pile with other kitties, so you’ll seldom see me sleeping alone. It’s the best thing ever when another kitty grooms me. The second best thing is playtime, I love to play! My favorite toys have feathers or remind me of bugs. My foster siblings are teaching me to hunt bugs, but I’m not very good at it yet. I like some pets, but I have a busy schedule and I sometimes forget to ask for them. I was found under a deck with my siblings, so I’m a little independent. I’ve spent enough time inside to know that I like the kittypet life, but I still have a bit of a potty mouth. When I’m not sure about something or mildly inconvenienced I sometimes hiss, but that’s just how I say “no thank you”. I’m getting more polite every day! I sometimes still find humans intimidating, so I need some time to adjust to new situations and environments. I’m looking for an adopter who’s willing to learn my language and help me open up. I must go to a home with another cat. I’d love to go home with my sibling Nova, but I’d be equally happy with another friendly cat that will groom, snuggle, and play with me. I’d be okay with a calm dog that mostly ignores me. If you’re looking for a kitten that’s out of this world, submit an application today! We encourage you to consider adopting kittens in pairs! There are several reasons why Astra would do good with a friend, including: -Two kittens keep each other entertained - they will play and get all their energy out on each other in time for snuggles with you! -Having two kittens to play with each other prevents "I'm lonely and bored" behavioral issues. -Watching two kittens wrestle is quite possibly the cutest thing you will ever see. -The kittens will teach each other "how to cat" and learn to be more social with humans and people. -You'll save two lives instead of one! Astra is microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, spayed , and litter box trained. Astra 's adoption fee is $135. Please note A.R.F. does not approve applications for any kitten under 6 months of age to families that live outside of Illinois and/or beyond 100 miles of Wheaton or Glen Ellyn, IL. If you are interested in meeting Astra , please fill out our online kitten adoption application at https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/application/ today! Once your application has been approved, an A.R.F. volunteer will be able to contact you to arrange a meeting.
