In the shelter’s words
About MeHi, I’m Sky! I’m a sweet and petite calico girl, just shy of my first birthday, with a soft medium-length coat and an even softer personality. I’m a bit of a quiet girl when you first meet me. New people and new surroundings can make me feel a little shy and reserved, so I may not immediately show you just how loving I really am. Give me a little time, some patience, and plenty of gentle pets, though, and you’ll start to see the real Sky come out.And trust me — she’s pretty darn sweet.Once I feel comfortable, I’m an affectionate little lovebug who absolutely adores being petted. I’m the kind of kitty who likes to build a relationship at my own pace, and there’s something pretty special about earning the trust of a girl like me.I also have an adorable habit that my friends at The PURRfect Match have discovered: I LOVE to burrow into my blankies! If there’s a soft blanket nearby, there’s a good chance you’ll find me tucked underneath it, all cozy and content in my own little hideaway. Just look for the suspiciously Sky-shaped lump. And if you really want to win me over? Wet food, please! I definitely prefer it to the crunchy stuff. A girl knows what she likes.I may not be the kitty who immediately runs up and demands your attention when you walk through the door. I’m more of a slow-burn kind of sweetheart — the one who needs a little time to decide that you’re safe, and then rewards your patience by showing you just how loving she can be.If you’re looking for a gentle, affectionate companion and you’re willing to give a shy little girl the time she needs to blossom, I’d love the chance to get to know you.Come visit me at The PURRfect Match Cat Adoption Center. And remember...if you don’t see me right away, check under the blankies. ----------WHERE IS THIS PET LOCATED? Adoption applications must be completed, which include information regarding references and vet clinic information, DL #, names, etc. Reference checks are conducted and when necessary vetting information verified. Discussion about the animal interested in to best assure appropriate and proper placement is made, and educational information regarding how to manage a multi-dog/animal household, slow and proper introductions and the importance of a shut-down period to help the animal acclimate to new surroundings. A "meet and greet" with the animal is required and whenever possible all residents of the household should be present. Home checks may, but not always, be necessary. After adoption applications is approved a contract is required, where we also stipulate that if for any reason the adopter determines they no longer want or can care for the animal we require it be returned to us, with the exception of documented bite history or potentially dangerous or dangerous dog designations. Adoption fees vary, but are comparable to or less than other local rescues and typically are $300 or less for a canine and $150 for a feline.
