In the shelter’s words
Meet Eevee! Looking for the perfect-sized adventure buddy? Meet Eevee! At just 1 year old and 34 pounds, this adorable Boxer mix is the perfect combination of playful, affectionate, and easy to take wherever life leads. Like any young dog, Eevee is full of enthusiasm for life and is ready to find a family that will continue helping her learn and grow. She loves making new friends and gets along well with other dogs, so she’d be happy with a canine sibling or as your one-and-only. She’s also great with kids, making her a wonderful addition to an active family. Whether you’re heading out for a walk, spending time in the backyard, or curling up on the couch after a fun day together, Eevee is ready to be right by your side. She’s at that wonderful age where she’s left the tiny puppy stage behind but still has all the fun, goofy energy that makes young dogs so lovable. If you’ve been searching for a sweet, social, perfectly-sized companion to share life’s adventures with, Eevee might just be your perfect match. Come meet her—you may fall in love before you even leave!

Applicants must fill out an application at www.adoptapitrescue.org/apply. We screen all applications, with approved applicants passing a vet and landlord check. All pets in the home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on all vaccinations and on year-round heartworm preventative. Non-homeowners must have permission from their landlord to have a dog. Once approved, we schedule a home visit, where an adoption representative takes the dog to the adopter's home to see if the dog is a good fit for the family and other pets, as well as verify the home is a safe environment for the dog. If everyone feels the dog is a good fit, a contract is signed, adoption fee is paid, and the family takes possession of the dog, unless other arrangements are made. Typical adoption fees are $175 for adult dogs and $200 for puppies. We reserve the right to charge different fees for "designer" breeds. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested, and on heartworm preventative at the time of adoption. All dogs have been examined by our veterinarian and given a clean bill of health at the time of adoption.
