Hi there! My name is Jerry! I'm a curious little guy with a big personality and a knack for adventure. I'm also quite the escape artist! I love exploring and can be pretty good at finding ways to get out, so I'll need a secure enclosure to keep me safe. I can be a little difficult to handle, so I'll need someone who is patient, gentle, and willing to give me time to build trust. I may not be the cuddliest hamster right away, but with understanding and respect for my boundaries, I can settle in at my own pace. I'm looking for a loving home with someone who appreciates my independent spirit and is ready for a clever little guy like me. Could you be my new best friend? The SPCA strongly encourages Adoption Holds to ensure I will be waiting to meet you when you arrive. To make an Adoption Hold, please call 831-373-2631. The Adoption Center is open to meet me without an Adoption Hold, however you may need to wait for an adoption time to become available and I may already be adopted. 1. Visit the SPCA at 1002 Monterey-Salinas Highway across from Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. 2. Visit with the pet you are interested in adopting to see if his personality fits your lifestyle. If you are adopting a dog, you can meet him in one of our new dog condo rooms or play in one of our play yards. 3. Complete family introductions (every member of the family living in the house with the animal must meet and visit with the animal prior to adoption to ensure a happy fit for everyone). 4. If you are adopting a new dog and already have one at home, our animal care staff will assist you with introducing your current dog to the dog you are hoping to adopt to ensure a good match. 5. The SPCA adoption process takes approximately 20-30 minutes to complete. All paperwork, vaccination records, and microchip information will be provided at this time. Adoption fees range from $20 to $290. 6. Take your new lifelong family member home!
