In the shelter’s words

Deacon is the kind of dog who makes companionship feel effortless. This sweet, easygoing boy doesn't ask for much. He's just happy to be along for the ride and is happy just calmly coexisting nearby. He's a total gentleman on leash, and walks so politely without pulling. He's calm and easy to handle, even standing calmly while being leashed up. Deacon has a mostly low energy level and an independent personality. He's happy to trot around and entertain himself by sniffing around, but he's just as happy to stop and soak up some love. Don’t let his easygoing and laidback nature fool you – every now and then he’ll surprise you with some zoomies! Deacon isn't particularly interested in toys or treats. He's a simple guy with simple pleasures! He doesn't need constant attention, endless entertainment, or a packed schedule of activities. He's perfectly happy just being a background character in your day. If you're looking for a low maintenance, peaceful companion who appreciates affection but also values his independence, Deacon might just be your perfect match. He's not asking for the world - just a place in yours.
