Hi everyone, I’m Brosnan Sammy! I’m a 13-year-old Dachshund mix weighing about 24 lbs. I may be a senior, but don’t let my age fool you — I’m still pretty peppy and love getting out for walks! I’m sweet, silly, and just an all-around adorable little guy. I came to PAWS after my owner passed away, and I was left in the home for months before someone stepped in to help. I had been living with my friend Winney, but we’ve learned that we don’t have to be adopted together. When I first came back to PAWS, I weighed 26 lbs, but I’ve been working on my diet and am down to 24 lbs! I’m crate trained and really enjoy my walks. I’m still working on my house training. I do mark inside, so my foster family has me wear a male wrap in the house. I may be a senior, but I still have plenty of love to give. I’m hoping for someone who will give me the second chance I deserve.

Your application will NOT submit unless all mandatory questions have been answered AND the Google captcha puzzle is successfully completed. 3. NOTIFY. Call your veterinarian and provide your permission for PAWS to discuss your petsâ medical history. If you rent your residence, PAWS verifies that your landlord permits the breed of dog in question. Notifying your landlord and/or veterinarian ahead of time can speed up the application review process! A PAWS volunteer reviews your application to ensure that all other dogs in the household are up-to-date on their vaccinations (DHPP, lepto, rabies, bordetella) and are spayed/neutered. Additionally, they verify that any cats in the home are current on their rabies vaccination. 4. MEET & GREET. Upon application approval, the dogâs foster parent contacts you to set up a meet and greet in a neutral location (like a pet store or park). 5. HOME VISIT. The foster parent, dog, and another PAWS volunteer meet you in your home for a home visit. Here, the volunteers observe the dog to make sure itâs a good fit. All household members and pets must be present at this visit. 6. ADOPT! If everyone agrees that this is a perfect match, adoption is the final step! You meet in a neutral location, sign the adoption contract, pay the $300 adoption fee, and take ownership of your new dog!
