In the shelter’s words
Miley’s Christmas Wish: A Home That Understands Her Heart Miley’s past wasn’t easy. She carries scars you can’t see—ones that shaped how she connects with the world. Because of that, she needs to be an only pet, or placed with someone experienced and committed to rotating animals and following the free training that comes with her adoption. But here’s the magic: once Miley trusts you, she’s a total love bug, gentle and affectionate. You will have to earn it and be patient, and no small children! She just needs someone who sees past the surface and believes in second chances. She’s waiting for her person. Could it be you? Www.barktownrescue.org/adopt

Plan a visit with the source organization
First, we do ask that an application be filled out on the animal the person is interested in. Once approved, we can set up to meet the animal, which will already be vetted (spayed or neutered, vaccinated, heart worm tested, etc.). The fee for adoption starts at $125. There is a contract that also needs signed at the time of adoption.
Confirm availability, fees and the meeting address before traveling.
