In the shelter’s words
Hi my name is Mimi! Before you get all excited because I am a poodle, please read all about me. I am a sweet girl, but I must have been used mostly for breeding because I am cautious of new people. I will literally run away from you if you move too quickly and when you do pick me up, I will shake even though I eventually will lean into your touch. It was said that I was about 5 years old when I came into rescue. My teeth were so bad that it was rrally hard to tell. Unfortunately my foster recently noticed that I was coughing and took me back in for a other exam. The vet found a slight heart murmur this time and I am currently on medication for this. I am doing great and my cough has disappeared. I will be on this for the rest of my life. Otherwise I am a very happy and energetic girl. I get along well with all dogs and cats. I would do best with no children as it take me a while just to warm up to adults. I would like an older quieter family with a fenced in yard so I cam go outside to potty and run and play. I need someone who is going to be patient and allow me to trust them so they can spoil me like I deserve to be. Please consider giving me a life like I have never had and apply for me at www.allmuttsmatter.org.

Plan a visit with the source organization
Applications are reviewed by an AMMF volunteer, background checks are performed, vet and personal references checked, and a home visit is performed by an AMMF volunteer with applicant and all family members living in the home. All dogs older then 5 months are spayed/neutered, all shots up-to-date, microchipped, wormed, heartworm & lyme tested. Adoption fee for dogs older then 5 months is $295. Puppies up to 5 months old, the adoption fee is $300.00. Dogs and puppies who go to homes that have other pets and/or children, will stay on a foster-to-adopt basis for at least two weeks to insure that everyone adjusts well to each other and then if all is well, the adoption is finalized, which includes a legally binding contract signed by all parties. If for any reason, at anytime, the family cannot keep the dog, then he/she comes back to AMMF.
