In the shelter’s words
Meet Graceland, a sweet, petite 2-year-old crate-trained girl from Memphis who is looking for a warm, loving family to call her own. She is the ultimate companion—full of happy energy in the backyard and total sweetness when it’s time to unwind. Why You'll Fall in Love with Graceland: • Affectionate Side: She is a wonderful mix of playful fun and deep Love Me Tender cuddles. • Playful Energy: She lights up the yard whenever she gets to chase her favorite ball. • Adventure Ready: Mention a car ride or a pup cup, and she will be waiting by the door in a heartbeat! • Cozy Couch Buddy: She loves to snuggle up and would happily keep you company on the couch all evening long. Good to Know: • Resilient: She has a slight limp from an old injury, but she doesn’t let it slow her down for a second. • House Manners: Fully crate-trained, well-behaved, and ready for an easy transition into your heart and home. Graceland is just waiting for the family she can love forever. Don’t pass this special girl by—come meet her today and see why you Can't Help Falling in Love!

Applicants must fill out an application at www.adoptapitrescue.org/apply. We screen all applications, with approved applicants passing a vet and landlord check. All pets in the home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on all vaccinations and on year-round heartworm preventative. Non-homeowners must have permission from their landlord to have a dog. Once approved, we schedule a home visit, where an adoption representative takes the dog to the adopter's home to see if the dog is a good fit for the family and other pets, as well as verify the home is a safe environment for the dog. If everyone feels the dog is a good fit, a contract is signed, adoption fee is paid, and the family takes possession of the dog, unless other arrangements are made. Typical adoption fees are $175 for adult dogs and $200 for puppies. We reserve the right to charge different fees for "designer" breeds. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested, and on heartworm preventative at the time of adoption. All dogs have been examined by our veterinarian and given a clean bill of health at the time of adoption.
