MEET "FINLEY" TEXAS, HOUSTON LOCATION: HOUSTON, TEXAS EMAIL: BigPawsK9FosterHouse@gmail.com AVAILABLE FOR: FOSTER TO ADOPT/ADOPTION NAME: "FINLEY" DOB: 12/5/24 BREED: ANATOLIAN SHEPHERD CATAHOULA MIX GENDER: FEMALE SIZE: LARGE HEALTH: GOOD NOTES: Finley is a stunning blend of gentleness and intelligence, with a calm confidence that draws you in. At 1.5 years old, this Anatolian Shepherd/Catahoula mix already shows the wisdom and poise of a natural-born leader—but don’t worry, she’s just as loving and clever as she is independent. Finley is wonderful with kids and other dogs, and she’s already demonstrating great manners: she keeps her kennel room clean and potties outside using a doggy door like a pro. As with many Anatolians, Finley has a strong sense of self and prefers a life with structure and respectful leadership. She will thrive with a kind but confident handler who understands the breed’s instincts and values her thoughtful, steady nature. If you're looking for a loyal companion with both heart and brains—someone who will walk beside you, not behind—Finley might just be your perfect match. Finley and her siblings came into this world under heartbreaking circumstances. Their momma, an Anatolian Shepherd, was tragically hit and killed by a car while roaming the streets when the puppies were just 3 weeks old. A kind-hearted Good Samaritan stepped in and reached out for help, and now these resilient pups are thriving together and living their best lives. ------------------------------------------------ Ground transport assistance may be available within 1K miles depending on where you live and the availability of volunteer drivers along the route. Our Adoption Process Big Paws K9 Foster House is primarily a foster-based organization, and we proudly partner with established rescue groups to help dogs find loving forever homes. In most cases, the adoption process is managed directly through the rescue organization we are fostering for. However, there are times when a dog in need has no rescue support available. In those situations, we step in to bring the dog into our own adoption program. Adopting Through Big Paws K9 Foster House When you adopt a dog directly from us, here’s what to expect: Adoption Fee: $300 This includes full veterinary care, spay/neuter (if needed), vaccinations, microchipping, and heartworm testing/prevention. Application Process: All potential adopters must complete our adoption application. This helps us ensure a good fit for both the dog and your household. Requirements: Breed experience or knowledge is required for certain breeds. Secure, suitable fencing is required; photos must be submitted with your application. A clear plan for training and integrating the dog into your home must be provided. Veterinary reference checks are conducted to confirm that all current or past pets are/were: Up to date on vaccinations On heartworm prevention and tested regularly Spayed or neutered Home Verification: We verify homeownership or landlord approval to ensure that pets are allowed at the property. Adoption Contract: All adopters must sign a contract stating that if at any point they are unable to continue caring for the dog, the animal must be returned to Big Paws K9 Foster House. This ensures our dogs always have a safe place to go, no matter the circumstances. We are committed to responsible placement and lifelong support. Thank you for considering adoption and helping us save lives.
