In the shelter’s words

Looking for a cat who's equal parts fluff, love, and personality? A Bot Named Sue has already debugged the secret to stealing hearts. Meet A Bot Named Sue — a 2‑year‑old long‑haired tuxedo who came to us as an owner surrender when his family could no longer care for him. From the moment he arrived, Sue has been nothing but perfect. He’s cuddly, playful, affectionate, and always ready to curl up with you or chase a toy with enthusiasm.Sue does have FeLV (Feline Leukemia Virus).FeLV is a virus that affects a cat’s immune system. It is not contagious to humans, dogs, or other species, but it can be transmitted to other cats through close contact such as grooming, sharing food/water bowls, or mutual play that involves saliva. Because of this, Sue must be adopted into a FeLV‑only home or as the only cat.Sue also has a condition called pillow foot (feline plasma cell pododermatitis).Pillow foot causes a cat’s paw pads to become swollen, soft, and sometimes tender — almost like little “pillows.” It is typically managed with medication, regular monitoring, and keeping the paws clean and comfortable. Many cats live normal, happy lives with this condition, though flare‑ups can occur and may require treatment.Despite these medical challenges, Sue’s spirit is bright and loving. He is gentle, social, and full of personality. He doesn’t let anything slow him down, and he’s more than ready to find a home that will cherish him exactly as he is.If you’re looking for a cat who will give you endless affection and playful companionship, A Bot Named Sue is waiting to meet you.A boy named Sue was sponsored by Jody Baker “ The Property Toller”! Please note: All of our animals are spayed/neutered and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations. Each pet also receives a behavioral assessment to help us better understand the type of home they may thrive in. However, it’s important to remember that the results may not fully reflect an animal’s true personality, as shelter and foster environments can be stressful. If you are interested in meeting any of our animals, we encourage you to first visit our website and submit an adoption application: https://www.acskc.org/adopt-1Once your adoption application has been approved, we will call you to set up an appointment to meet with the pet! We welcome adopters from out of state to apply! _When it comes to our pets, we're all-inclusive! Plan a visit with the source organization

Once you’re ready to adopt, head over to our Adoption Application to fill out and submit the form. Once our Adoption Team has reviewed and approved your application, we will give you a call to schedule an appointment with the pet! When you arrive at ACSKC, you will be greeted by our Adoption Coordinator and taken to meet the pet, either in our Meet and Greet Room or one of the play yards. If you already have pets in the home, you may be asked to bring them with you for a meet and greet to ensure they will get along in the home (this typically only applies to dogs). If you and our Adoption Coordinator feel like it is a good match, we will then finalize the paperwork and send you home with a bag of goodies, including our “Welcoming Your New Pet Home Guide,” toys, treats and a sample bag of their pet food. If it is not a good match, you are welcome to meet the other available pets in the shelter. Your approved application will be kept on file for 90 days, so you’re encouraged to take your time before making a decision!
