In the shelter’s words
Warning: Personal space is not Gadgi's specialty. If you sit down, there's a good chance you'll have 100 pounds of love leaning on you. Meet Gadgi! Gadgi is a lovable Cane Corso mix with a heart as big as he is. From the moment you meet him, you’ll see just how much he adores people — he leans his whole weight into anyone willing to give him attention, as if to say, “I’m yours!” He’s a dog who loves deeply and isn’t shy about showing it.This handsome boy has plenty of energy and is happiest when he has room to run, play, and explore. A big backyard would be a dream come true for him, and he’d thrive with a family that enjoys being active. He would do best in a home with kids 8 and older, especially one that wants a fun, goofy companion to join them on walks, hikes, and outdoor adventures.Gadgi is good with other dogs but a bit too much for cats. He’s also just as content being the center of attention with his people — especially if it means extra snuggles and leaning his giant self right into your lap.Gadgi was recently adopted and then returned due to counter‑surfing. He’s a smart, curious boy, so a family willing to work on training or one that can block off the kitchen would be the best fit for him. With consistency and structure, he’ll learn quickly. At the end of the day, Gadgi is a loyal, gentle soul who wants nothing more than to be part of a family. If you’re looking for a dog who will keep you laughing, keep you active, and keep you surrounded with love, Gadgi is the one. He’s ready to lean right into your heart and stay there.Gadgi's adoption fee is $175, which helps support their medical care and preparation for adoption. Please note: All of our animals are spayed/neutered and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations. Each pet also receives a behavioral assessment to help us better understand the type of home they may thrive in. However, it’s important to remember that the results may not fully reflect an animal’s true personality, as shelter and foster environments can be stressful. If you are interested in meeting any of our animals, we encourage you to first visit our website and submit an adoption application: https://www.acskc.org/adopt-1Once your adoption application has been approved, we will call you to set up an appointment to meet with the pet! We welcome adopters from out of state to apply! _When it comes to our pets, we're all-inclusive! Plan a visit with the source organization
Once you’re ready to adopt, head over to our Adoption Application to fill out and submit the form. Once our Adoption Team has reviewed and approved your application, we will give you a call to schedule an appointment with the pet! When you arrive at ACSKC, you will be greeted by our Adoption Coordinator and taken to meet the pet, either in our Meet and Greet Room or one of the play yards. If you already have pets in the home, you may be asked to bring them with you for a meet and greet to ensure they will get along in the home (this typically only applies to dogs). If you and our Adoption Coordinator feel like it is a good match, we will then finalize the paperwork and send you home with a bag of goodies, including our “Welcoming Your New Pet Home Guide,” toys, treats and a sample bag of their pet food. If it is not a good match, you are welcome to meet the other available pets in the shelter. Your approved application will be kept on file for 90 days, so you’re encouraged to take your time before making a decision!
