In the shelter’s words

I was found as a stray by some nice people who helped me find my way to Forte Animal Rescue. I had a microchip, so they were able to contact my previous owner, who clearly never understood what it meant to be my guardian. He told them he didn’t want me anymore because he didn’t have time for a puppy. (Then why did he adopt me in the first place?) Fortunately, I now have a wonderful foster home where there’s plenty of time for a puppy like me! I share my home with a big, friendly German Shepherd and a cat, and I get along great with both! I’m enjoying life with my foster family, but what I’d really love is a forever home of my very own. Could that be yours? Come meet me at a Forte adoption event! If you are interested in meeting Ramona, please download the Adoption Questionnaire, fill it out and email it back to us at info@farescue.org or fax (310) 362-0321. You can also meet this and/or other available dogs at our weekend adoptions. (2610)

1. Volunteers at Forte Animal Rescue will work with you to identify your interests and needs in regards to a companion animal that would be suitable for your home. Our Adoption Questionnaire (PDF) for Dogs or Cats covers most of the issues which we have found relevant to helping you find your new companion and smooth the transition for both of you. 2. After reading your questionnaire, one of our volunteers may make suggestions as to which animals may be best suited to you and your lifestyle and make an arrangement for you to meet them at our Weekend Adoptions or in their foster homes to get to know each other. 3. If you fall in love on the spot, please make sure you have read the "Before You Adopt" section because this is a big, and important decision, not just for the human involved, but also for the companion animal. We can then proceed with the next stop of the adoption process which is commonly called the "Home Safety-Check" 4. An Adoption Fee is required along with a signed adoption agreement, which ensures that if, for any reason, you are unable to keep the animal, he/she is to be returned to Forte Animal Rescue only. 5. Finally, we personally deliver your new family member to your home.
