In the shelter’s words
Meet Polly! Polly is a sweet, reserved girl who is looking for a special person to help her continue discovering just how wonderful life can be. Our volunteers have worked patiently with her, and she has become comfortable with touch and play. She is now ready for the next step in her journey: a quiet, loving foster or adoptive home where she can continue building confidence and learning to trust. Polly is playful and gentle, and she absolutely loves treats! With patience, consistency, and plenty of love, this lovely girl has so much potential to blossom into a wonderful companion. A dedicated foster home would give Polly the peaceful environment she needs to continue coming out of her shell and learning that people can be a source of comfort, companionship, and love. For the right person, watching Polly grow in confidence could be an incredibly rewarding experience. If Polly sounds like the special girl who belongs in your home, please email nycatcoaladopt@yahoo.com or call Joan at (718) 671-1695. An online adoption form is also available - click here to apply.

Plan a visit with the source organization
We wish to place cats only in secure, safe, stable, loving homes, and we are very careful in our review of the applications. Potential Pet-parents fill out an Adoption Application, we review the application, call the applicant, schedule a time for them to visit our cats. We check their references, call their veterinarian, and verify that their backup person who would take the cats if something happened to the adopter is on board. Then a Foster Agreement is completed. When all parties are happy, after about 2 weeks, we have the finalized Adoption Agreement sent to us.
