Guinea pigs make wonderful pets for kids, teens, and adults. They are lower maintenance than rabbits, and less skittish than hamsters, so they can be a great âmiddle groundâ for a first pet. Guinea pigs are social and do best with a companion of the same gender. They are fast learners and many will squeal in delight when they anticipate a veggie treat or a fun activity. Guinea pigs need a secure enclosure to live in, but benefit from supervised time outside their enclosure to stretch their legs. Guinea pigs generally live between 4-8 years with proper care.

To adopt an animal through our facility you will fill out an adoption contract and pay applicable fees. It costs $10-$35 to adopt a cat; and $30-$120 to adopt a dog. All animals MUST be sterilized before leaving the shelter. If an animl is not fixed at the time of adoption, it will be spayed/neutered before it leaves by the shelter veterinarian. Adoption fees include all vaccinations, fees depend on spay/neuter status.
