In the shelter’s words
ð¾ Meet Chico! ð¤ Chico is a sweet, calm boy who may seem a little stressed or unsure of his surroundings at first. New environments and unfamiliar people can take some getting used to, so Chico just needs a little time, patience, and understanding to feel comfortable. Once he has the chance to settle in and warm up to you, he has the opportunity to show his sweet personality. Chico would love a loving home that will allow him to adjust at his own pace and help him build confidence. If you have a little extra patience and a lot of love to give, Chico could be the perfect addition to your family! Give Chico the time to feel safe, and let him show you just how special he is!

Plan a visit with the source organization
1. Visit the SPCA at 1002 Monterey-Salinas Highway across from Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. 2. Visit with the pet you are interested in adopting to see if his personality fits your lifestyle. If you are adopting a dog, you can meet him in one of our new dog condo rooms or play in one of our play yards. 3. Complete family introductions (every member of the family living in the house with the animal must meet and visit with the animal prior to adoption to ensure a happy fit for everyone). 4. If you are adopting a new dog and already have one at home, our animal care staff will assist you with introducing your current dog to the dog you are hoping to adopt to ensure a good match. 5. The SPCA adoption process takes approximately 20-30 minutes to complete. All paperwork, vaccination records, and microchip information will be provided at this time. Adoption fees range from $20 to $290. 6. Take your new lifelong family member home!
