In the shelter’s words
***Smith is with a loving family near Ringoes, NJ. He'll be available for adoption in the Flemington, New Jersey area. An application for Smith's adoption can be submitted at socorescue.com (no need to register or login). Questions about Smith and/or our adoption policy should be sent to socorescue8@gmail.com; please do not call the Rescue's number.*** For a couple of days, we noticed a very young puppy running loose and just outside of our dog kennels. He apparently heard our dogs barking and was trying to find safety within our rescue, but would run away whenever we tried to lure him to us. We ended up setting a trap and was able to catch Smith within a day's time. And, boy, was he ever happy to see us as he was all tail wags and excited when we took him from the trap. About a week after his capture, we found his sister, Kathy, roaming free in the same spot just below the rescue. Smith quickly displayed his very friendly, playful personality to us. He shows us everyday just how happy he is that we found him and is always eager to give us kisses and snuggle up in our arms. While we're not really sure of his breed mix, we do know that he'll add lots of love to his new family Smith has received 2 of 3 of his first year "puppy" vaccines, been de-wormed on multiple occasions and started on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. He's still too young to receive his rabies vaccine, which should be obtained after he reaches 12 weeks of age. His adopter must agree on having Smith neutered once he reaches 6 months old and provide verification of such to our rescue.
