In the shelter’s words
Meet Fable! DOB: July 2022Weight: 56lbsDisposition: Gentle, Loyal, Quiet The OverviewSome dogs have a way of quietly stealing your heart, and Fable is one of them. This beautiful Shepherd mix recently escaped euthanasia alongside her best friend, Story, just minutes before their scheduled time. The two girls arrived at the shelter together, comforted each other through every uncertainty, and have remained inseparable ever since.Fable has clearly lived a difficult life. She's still working on gaining weight, and the missing tips of her ears hint at hardships no dog should ever experience. Despite everything, she's remarkably gentle and trusting, choosing kindness over fear.❤️ Why You'll Fall in Love with HerA Gentle Soul: Fable has a calm, easygoing temperament and enjoys simply being near her people.Loves Everyone: She's affectionate with people, friendly with other dogs, and carries herself with a quiet confidence that makes everyone around her feel at ease.Resilient Beyond Words: Fable's past doesn't define her. She's ready to leave it behind and spend the rest of her life being someone's loyal companion. The Ideal HomeFable would thrive in a home looking for a steady, loving companion rather than a high-energy adventure dog. She'd be happiest with adopters who appreciate her gentle nature and can help her continue gaining confidence and healthy weight. Most importantly, we would love for Fable to be adopted with her best friend, Story. These girls have already lost the only home they knew, and their bond has helped them through every challenge since. They truly find comfort in one another and deserve to begin their next chapter together. If you're interested in meeting Fable, please visit our website to fill out an adoption application: www.thebarkinglot.net/adoptOur dogs are located in San Diego County, CA. Our goal is to find the right match for each pooch based on lifestyle, energy level, exercise regime, environment and living situation. To ensure we find a great match for each pup, the process includes: 1) Filling out an Adoption Application. 2) a play date with your furry friend, 3) a home check of the potential adopter, 4) an adoption contract, 5) an adoption fee. The adoption fees include spay/neuter, up-to-date shots, rabies vaccination, microchip & microchip registration, de-worming and the benefit of getting a pooch who has been living in a stable and loving environment. Dogs are fostered in our homes to create the same type of environment into which each will be adopted. We strive to meet each pup's needs in terms of exercise, socialization and basic manners, including potty training.
