In the shelter’s words
Meet Huey — Your Quiet Little Hero in Waiting Huey is a 4½-year-old terrier/chihuahua mix with the softest heart and the gentlest soul. This shy little guy may not rush up to you right away—but once he chooses you, the bond you’ll share will be truly special. Huey is sweet, calm, and incredibly loving in his own quiet way. He thrives in peaceful environments and would do best in a home with a secure yard where he can feel safe and explore at his own pace. Having another friendly dog as a buddy would be a huge bonus for him—he finds comfort and confidence in canine companionship. What Huey needs most is a patient, understanding person who will let him learn to trust on his own terms. No rushing, no pressure—just kindness, consistency, and love. In return, Huey will reward you with unwavering loyalty and a heart full of gratitude. Watching Huey blossom in the right home will be nothing short of inspiring. He’s proof that sometimes the quietest dogs have the loudest love. ✨ Details: 4½-year-old male terrier/chihuahua mix Shy, sweet, gentle soul Needs a secure yard Would love a doggy friend ‍❤️‍ Best with patient, loving adopters Adoption fee: $250 Ready to be Huey’s hero? Adoption application is required. Applications are checked by contacting references and veterinarians of those with pets to ensure our pups go to the best homes possible. A picture of your home or yard may be requested All dogs and puppies are fully vetted prior to adoption (spay/neuter, rabies, 3 DHPP, bordetella and heartworm test/treat if positive) and are micro-chipped. Our fees start at $200, transport out of Texas is arranged by us and is generally an additional $200. We work hard to place dogs into the right families, but sometimes we realize the fit isn't quite working out for the adopter or the pet. Our contract requires if an adoption does not work out the dog is to be returned to us. We need at least two weeks notice.
