In the shelter’s words
Breed: Border Collie X DOB: 2/2024 Gender: female Altered: yes Coat: medium Size: large Color(s): black / white Description:Hi, I'm Sadie, a remarkable and resilient young Border Collie mix with a heart as big as the challenges I've overcome. After being rescued with my nine newborn puppies, I faced health issues and injuries with unwavering courage. But now, I'm ready to leave my past behind and find a forever family to call my own. I am a gentle soul who craves love and attention. With a calm and friendly demeanor, I welcome all the pets, kisses, and treats life has to offer. My sweet and quiet nature will instantly capture your heart. Imagine leisurely walks together, where my easy-going temperament shines through, and cozy nights in, where my loving presence warms your soul.I'm a beautiful black and white pup who not only survived but thrived. I'm very quiet and keep a close watch on my person and house especially at night. I'm still learning to trust the resident cat in my foster home, but I'm getting better every day. I enjoy being brushed outside in the morning, doing a few zoomies to show my appreciation, then laying in the grass to sunbathe. I've never had an accident in the house and I'll even let you know when I have to go outside. I'm learning to walk on a leash and to not be so nervous around traffic and children riding bicycles/scooters. I understand "NO", "wait" and "back". I enjoy car rides especially when we go get burgers, but I'm still learning to get into the car. I take treats very nicely; I'm a very polite girl. I'm a bit nervous with strangers approach me, but do better if they let me approach them. I tolerate the one cat in my foster home, but I think I'd prefer a home with no cats.My resilience and adaptability are a testament to my unwavering spirit. With ongoing care and medication, I am on the path to recovery and will continue to bring joy and devotion to those around me. I'm more than just a loving companion; I'm a symbol of strength and a reminder that second chances exist. If you're looking for a loyal and devoted friend to cherish and adore, consider opening your heart and home to extraordinary me. Could you be the loving and patient person I have been waiting for? Fill out an online application to meet me and discover the heartwarming bond that awaits. *Thank you to Sharon for sponsoring this wonderful dog and giving her the chance for a better life.

1. Before making your selection, please consider the following. https://www.pawsandlearn.org/contact After reading, select a dog that interests you and fits your lifestyle. For puppies under 11 months old, children in the home must be at least 6 years old. 2. Everyone in the household needs to spend some time interacting with the dog. If you already have a dog in your household, please bring your dog over to meet the dog you’ve selected. All dogs and people in the home must meet the dog you’ve selected. 3. Fill out an adoption application form (note: filling out an application DOES NOT guarantee an adoption). 4. An Adoption Counselor will review the application. Upon approval of the application, you will be contacted to submit pictures/videos to confirm that the fencing and gates are secure, and the yard is safe for the dog. 5. No dog is ever adopted from the program without a home check. 6. If more than one application is submitted for a given dog, our adoption committee will select the home that is best suited for the dog’s needs. 7. The entire adoption process can take up to one week. 8. The adoption process is concluded when an Adoption Contract is completed and the non-refundable adoption fee is paid. 9. Our non-refundable adoption fees per dog are: $300 for puppies up to 6 months old $250 for puppies over 6 months old and under 1 yr old $225 for dogs 1 yr old and under 8 yrs old $175 for senior dogs 8 yrs old and up If you can increase the adoption fee for the dog you are adopting, please do so. Any amount over the adoption fee is tax-deductible. If you cannot, please remember us during the holiday gift giving season and for donations of dog toys, dog beds, blankets and other items all rescue groups need. But most importantly PLEASE remember to tell your friends who FALL IN LOVE with your dog (because they will) to ADOPT, don't breed or buy.
