In the shelter’s words
My day in the life with Stix on 5/3/25, I was his photographer... Stix is intelligent, he is ready for adventure and enjoys walks and treats. Going for rides to a new park. Enjoys his own space. Other dogs aren’t always his cup of tea. Prefers being the one and only. He is loyal to his people. He thrives best with all the attention(single dog home). Stix learned a new recall just from the hour walk we took with the trainer on the long leash. He is in need of mental stimulation along with physical stimulation. Stix has a mixture of breeds gives him beautiful colors in his fur and his eyes are light and dreamy. He would be a perfect match for an active person. A previous dog owner may offer the awareness and the importance routine offers to an intelligent dog. Someone who enjoys an attachment to a doggy friend that loves to chase a ball and use his athletic ability. He requires an investment that will allow him to build trust with consistency. To allow the bond and safety he seeks in his person. Ideally, a home that has had experience with loving a dog needing someone willing to develop a relationship and build trust. To meet Stix, put in an application at www.eapl.com . His Sponsored Adoption Fee is $75 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F03ALyDS-_E https://www.youtube.com/shorts/9_GcmmRUQiw Stix is (est. birthday is 1/18/2020) a total catch. He is smart, food motivated and has been through basic training. He knows how to sit, lay down, stay, shake, rollover and has the cutest, most majestic wolf howl. He LOVES to play fetch, hike and go running. He is crate-trained and house-trained and loves puzzle toys and bones and any games you might teach him. He would do best as a solo dog and no cats and older kiddos. He would make a great companion for an active household.

THE FIRST STEP to adopting an EAPL animal is to fill out a DOG ADOPTION APPLICATION. EAPL is a foster-based rescue. We do not have a shelter facility where applicants can come look at multiple animals at one time. All of our animals are in foster homes that range from Denver, to Evergreen, to Northeast Colorado - where they are loved and cared for until they are placed in a forever home. The adoption process begins when you complete an online Adoption Application, naming either one or a few of our Available Animals or providing a description of the type of animal you hope to adopt. Completing an application does not restrict you to a specific animal, nor does it obligate you to adopt. Once we have received your application and determined that you are a good match for the requested animal, we will contact you. The foster parent will then contact you to arrange a time for you to meet the animal, at which time you can decide if you would like to complete the adoption. You may be asked to visit the animal more than once before taking it home. After your initial meeting with the animal, one of our volunteers will conduct a home visit. This may occur before you take the animal home or when the animal is delivered to you. Once the adoption is approved, you will need to complete our Preliminary Adoption Agreement and pay the adoption fee. We will keep in contact over the next few days to make sure everyone is happy. If so, we will mail out an official Adoption Contract for you to sign and mail back. At that point, your adoption fee will be deposited. IF AT ANY TIME AFTER ADOPTION, YOU DECIDE YOU CAN NOT KEEP THE PET FOR ANY REASON, THE ANIMAL MUST BE RETURNED TO EAPL. Our animals are our clients. Our job is to find each of out animals the right home. Rejected applications are not necessarily a reflection on the applicant’s home, but rather based on the determination that the home is not the right match. Before adopting, keep in mind that many of our animals have ne
