In the shelter’s words
Hi I'm Tzatziki! I'm just a happy, easy going guy with an older soul, looking for a best friend. I'm around 9 years old and about 80 lbs, but I don't require much more than a few comfy places to lay, good company, and whatever yummies you'd like to treat me with. I'm good with dogs and haven't met a person I didn't like. Now, since they say I'm a little older I probably shouldn't be running marathons with you, but I definitely don't mind tagging along for a little walk, or maybe a nice relaxing fishing trip or camping weekend. If you're looking for a laid back gentleman to spend some lazy days with, I'm definitely your guy and you should apply today to be my new best friend!

Applicants must fill out an application at www.adoptapitrescue.org/apply. We screen all applications, with approved applicants passing a vet and landlord check. All pets in the home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on all vaccinations and on year-round heartworm preventative. Non-homeowners must have permission from their landlord to have a dog. Once approved, we schedule a home visit, where an adoption representative takes the dog to the adopter's home to see if the dog is a good fit for the family and other pets, as well as verify the home is a safe environment for the dog. If everyone feels the dog is a good fit, a contract is signed, adoption fee is paid, and the family takes possession of the dog, unless other arrangements are made. Typical adoption fees are $175 for adult dogs and $200 for puppies. We reserve the right to charge different fees for "designer" breeds. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested, and on heartworm preventative at the time of adoption. All dogs have been examined by our veterinarian and given a clean bill of health at the time of adoption.
