Stormi and her sister Gypsy were dumped with their mom in a hay field with no food, water or shelter. We estimate gypsy's birth date to be April 2026 and think she is a mix of Catahoula, Shepherd, boxer, cattle dog maybe. Estimated adult weight is 52 lb. She is mostly house trained and uses a doggy door when she needs to go potty. She has a sweet/silly personality, loves and is kissy on people, cats, and other dogs. When not playing, her calm side comes alive. She likes to watch TV or lay upside down on the couch nearby when you on a computer or reading or with her dog friends and cats. She especially likes to watch you cook (she is very food oriented). She is attentive to her family, bonds easily and is making great progress on her leash and obedience training learning all the commands a puppy needs to know. She does great in a car but has gotten car sick on rare occasions. She loves to play with toys, collect them in her bed and chew on chewies (lots of them). She especially likes her squeaky toys, sucks on her favorite, will carry them around gently and then decide it's time to shred them so you will need to keep a few spares available for a while. Stormi will need an active family and/or doggy playmate. She's also looking for a loving home with a yard big enough that she can run and play and that is secured with a 6ft wooden fence and is not near a busy street. The good news is that with the right training and LOTS of love, she will be the best addition to your family ever and your best bud, ready to go when you are. Please complete and return to us for review and to set up a meet and greet! Adopter for this dog must reside in the immediate Houston/Galveston area and be at least 25 years old. A home visit may be required prior to this dog going to any home. The adoption fee for a dog is $210 (or $270 for puppies) which includes State of Texas sales tax. All dogs are microchipped, on heartworm protection, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed and treated for fleas. Since all of our dogs are in foster homes, an individual dog may not be at our weekly Adoption Event due to conflict with a foster's schedule. If you are interested in meeting a particular dog, please send an email to scpdogworld@gmail.com so that the Dog Coordinator can let you know if the dog will be at the Saturday Adoption Event at Petco. If you just want to meet some great dogs looking for their forever home, please come visit with us on Saturday!

SCP adoption counselors review the applications, conduct in-person interviews and discuss pet care responsibilities with potential adopters. SCP checks applicants' vet references and may conduct a home visit at its discretion. So that the best interests of the pet are served, SCP reserves the right to refuse an adoption to anyone. The adoption fees are $110 for cats ($175 for two cats), $190 for dogs and $245 for puppies.
