Meet Dean Jimmy! Hi! My name is Dean Jimmy but my foster parents call me Dean or Squirrel ️ (if you know, you know.) I am a 4 Month Old Male Husky Mix and I currently weigh 7 lbs! My foster parents found my brother (Sausage Sam) and I playing in the road, and told us that wasn’t a safe place for us to play. They took us home, fed us, and gave us baths because mom said we were stinky. I am a very smart boy and very curious. I like to sit and watch the world around me or sit and smile . I learned how to use a pee pad, and ask for go potty outside. I love to run and play with my brother and my foster siblings until I get sleepy and love to snuggle up on the couch and take a nap. Rope toys are my favorite, I love playing tug! I am very brave and will protect you from leaves, squirrels, and Amazon drivers! I’m great with kids and other dogs. I haven’t been around cats before, but mom thinks I would be happy with any new friends to play with! I love to be included and would love to follow you anywhere! I am a very good and sweet boy and can’t wait for my forever family to take me home!

Applicants must fill out an application at www.adoptapitrescue.org/apply. We screen all applications, with approved applicants passing a vet and landlord check. All pets in the home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on all vaccinations and on year-round heartworm preventative. Non-homeowners must have permission from their landlord to have a dog. Once approved, we schedule a home visit, where an adoption representative takes the dog to the adopter's home to see if the dog is a good fit for the family and other pets, as well as verify the home is a safe environment for the dog. If everyone feels the dog is a good fit, a contract is signed, adoption fee is paid, and the family takes possession of the dog, unless other arrangements are made. Typical adoption fees are $175 for adult dogs and $200 for puppies. We reserve the right to charge different fees for "designer" breeds. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested, and on heartworm preventative at the time of adoption. All dogs have been examined by our veterinarian and given a clean bill of health at the time of adoption.
