In the shelter’s words
MEET BLUE! Blue is in need of a foster or adopter due to incompatible living circumstances. Blue and Pablo are (adopted) siblings who are just not that into each other. So sadly, one must find new accommodations. One, not both, so if you didn’t have room for Pablo could Blue be the one?? Here’s her pitch for why you should Go Blue!... “Hi, I’m Blue! My brother and I don’t get along anymore. Do you have any relatives that you just don’t want to hang out with? Yeah, it’s like that. It’s not that I don’t like dogs, but he just bugs me. I’d like to have a say in picking out a new brother or sister! Thanks for understanding. “I am a little over 6 years old and have been with my family since I was a puppy. We think I am a Staffordshire Bull Terrier/Jack Russell Terrier mix. I love people…LOVE PEOPLE! Believe me when I tell you, I have never met a stranger. I currently stay off the furniture but if you let me, I will happily nap on your lap or just sit and watch TV with you. It’s not like I am heavy; I only weigh 46 pounds! “Being destructive is not in my nature. I don’t touch shoes or chew on anything I am not supposed to. I know what belongs to me and what doesn’t. By the way, my favorite toys are stuffed and make crinkly sounds. After years of toy exploration, I have found what floats my boat! “I have an easy-going nature but when I am excited over something, I go all in. My exercise requirement is low to medium. I like to walk and sniff. An occasional run is good, but I really enjoy walking and exploring more. I make friends easily, so I would be happy with another dog buddy or even a cat since I had a kitty buddy in the past.” Blue’s adoption donation fee is $400, which includes spay/neuter, routine vetting and a microchip. You can apply for Blue by filling out our online application, which is found on our website www.tarashouse.org. Please email us at info@tarashouse.net with any questions.

Description of Our Adoption Process 1) Submit Online Adoption Application •Complete your adoption application online at www.tarashouse.net/adoptionapplication.html by filling in all required information, including your veterinarian information, landlord, etc. When all questions are answered, click submit to send to our Adoption Committee. 2) Initial Telephone Interview •Within 3 - 5 days after online submittal of your application a Tara's House representative will conduct your initial interview by telephone if our Adoption Committee decides to pursue your application. If your adoption application was submitted in person during a monthly adoption show, we will review your application and conduct the initial interview in person on the spot. 3) Reference Check •A Tara's House representative will call all references, especially your vet and landlord (if applicable), if we wish to proceed with your application after the initial review. 4) The Home Visit •If Tara's House finds all references give positive feedback and every other requirement has been met to this phase of our process, one of our Adoption Committee members will contact you to arrange a brief home visit. We will ask you to demonstrate a day in the life of your potential adopted dog and evaluate the environment and conditions for the dog. 5) Adoption Approval •After the home visit, our Adoption Committee convenes - usually virtually - to discuss your application and lessons learned as we worked through each phase of our process. From this collaborative review, our Adoption Committee will make the final decision on your application and inform you of their decision in short order. •If you are approved to adopt a Tara's House dog, you must sign and submit to Tara's House our legally binding adoption contract along with our adoption fee in the amount of $270-$375, depending on the dog (payable by check made to Tara's House), as well as pick your new dog from the applicable foster home within three days
