In the shelter’s words
Meet Cookie! She is a resilient 1-year-old Shih Tzu mix who is looking for her forever family. Found in rough shape—neglected, heavily matted, and covered in fleas and ticks—she has put her past completely behind her. Today, Cookie is a vibrant, happy-go-lucky pup bursting with joy and ready to share in all of life's adventures. Medical Status Fully Vetted: She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations . Health Updates: She has successfully had two inguinal hernias repaired , is heartworm negative , and is fully up to date on all preventative medications. Her Ideal Home Other Dogs: Would do best in a home with another small breed male dog to be her playmate and companion. Cats: Requires a cat-free home . Children: Best suited for families where all children are 10 years of age or older . Yard: Requires a secure yard with structured fencing only (no invisible or electronic fencing). Grooming: Requires a dedicated family committed to having her professionally groomed every 6–8 weeks to keep her coat healthy and mat-free. Activity Level: Thrives in an active household that loves going for walks and sharing everyday adventures.
