In honor of Pit Bull Awareness Month, my adoption fee is WAIVED for the entire month of October! ❤Meet Boulderface, a 1-year-old XXL Bully mix with a head as big as his heart. This goofy guy came to us as a stray, so we don't know much about his past, but what we do know is that he's packed full of love, muscle, and personality.Boulderface may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but he makes up for it with endless affection and an adorable "big doofus" charm. He absolutely loves people and believes personal space is optional. In fact, he's one of the biggest leaners you'll ever meet. If you're standing nearby, expect a giant bully-sized shadow pressed against your side. If you move, he's probably coming with you.Still very much a puppy at heart, Boulderface is learning the ropes. He already knows how to sit and usually comes when called, but he's still working on mastering those listening skills. With continued training, consistency, and patience, this lovable meathead is sure to keep making progress.Because of his size and strength, Boulderface is looking for a home with children over 8 years old who can comfortably handle a big, happy dog. He may enjoy a canine companion who can match his playful energy, but any meet-and-greets with resident dogs are recommended. Cats are definitely not his thing. Boulderface doesn't always realize just how big he is, and a feline friend would not appreciate his enthusiastic approach to life.The ideal home for Boulderface is one with someone willing to provide structure, guidance, and plenty of love. He needs a person who can occasionally put their foot down when this oversized puppy forgets his manners. In return, you'll get a loyal best friend, a professional cuddle expert, and enough love to fill an entire room.If you're looking for a giant goofball with a heart of gold and a face you'll never forget, Boulderface might just be your perfect match. ❤️Boulderface's adoption fee is $175, which helps support their medical care and preparation for adoption.Please note: All of our animals are spayed/neutered and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations. Each pet also receives a behavioral assessment to help us better understand the type of home they may thrive in. However, it’s important to remember that the results may not fully reflect an animal’s true personality, as shelter and foster environments can be stressful. Plan a visit with the source organization
Once you’re ready to adopt, head over to our Adoption Application to fill out and submit the form. Once our Adoption Team has reviewed and approved your application, we will give you a call to schedule an appointment with the pet! When you arrive at ACSKC, you will be greeted by our Adoption Coordinator and taken to meet the pet, either in our Meet and Greet Room or one of the play yards. If you already have pets in the home, you may be asked to bring them with you for a meet and greet to ensure they will get along in the home (this typically only applies to dogs). If you and our Adoption Coordinator feel like it is a good match, we will then finalize the paperwork and send you home with a bag of goodies, including our “Welcoming Your New Pet Home Guide,” toys, treats and a sample bag of their pet food. If it is not a good match, you are welcome to meet the other available pets in the shelter. Your approved application will be kept on file for 90 days, so you’re encouraged to take your time before making a decision!
