In the shelter’s words

Hi my name is Izumo. A little about me: I was living the street life in Colorado Springs with my mom and siblings, when a friend of Wild Blue found us and said we all deserved a chance at the pampered life. Living with humans was a big transition for me. I was hissy and spicy as a hot pepper at first, and I&#39m still anxious about things. But now I&#39m really enjoying the perks of indoor living, and I&#39m starting to enjoy being loved on by humans. If you respect my pace and approach slowly through treats and toys, I&#39m happy to let you pets me and eventually even carry me. Description: 2-month-old neutered, FELV negative, male short hair. - Charming black and white with hazel brown eyes - Shy, but has the potential to be a lap kitty Likes: Dunking my toys or standing in the drinking fountain. Playing in water in general. - Cuddling with my sister Icy Torrent - Chasing wand toys, springs and balls - tube treats - wrestling with my sister and foster brother - recently I&#39ve discovered that I like being carried around by my trusted humans Dislikes: New things that aren&#39t food - I&#39m cautious about new people, animals, sounds, spaces and even toys. I try to be brave though because my sister Icy now relies on me to know if things are okay. - Having my claws trimmed. I can handle it but please be extra gentle. - Being left alone without my fur friends. If I can&#39t find my sister I stick close to my foster brother. Skills: Greeting with a hiss - I don&#39t really mean anything by it, I just want you to know I&#39m not some pushover. Once I trust you that greeting changes to an eager meow. - Using my vertical and flat scratching posts. - Using litter box - crushing it. Izumo is a lover at heart. He&#39s been working hard to open up to humans and already showing signs of being the &#34purrfect&#34 best friend for a considerate someone willing to give him kindness and patience. He still seeks comfort from his sister Icy Torrent, and provides her with greater confidence. We would love to possibly see them adopted together, so please check out her profile as well. Due to his temperament, we recommend a home without very young children or dogs. If you have a heart for the shy but secretly spunky types please consider sharing your family with Izumo.
